ELSPRO goes green

Since June 1 last year, ELSPRO has switched to green electricity. The so-called green electricity is generated from solar energy, wind power or hydropower instead of, for example, coal, gas and oil. It is environmentally friendly and resources are not limited. Every green electricity customer contributes to driving investments in renewable energy and increasing the share of green electricity in the future.

“This is not the only step towards sustainability,” says Managing Director Thomas Brimmers. “The first electric company cars have already been in use since the end of 2020. There are now 8 charging columns on the company premises.”

Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly efficient and suitable for everyday use. Noise and exhaust fumes are reduced. If the electricity required for charging is used from renewable energy sources, you can drive from A to B in an almost climate-neutral manner.

The topic of e-mobility is not limited to the automotive sector. ELSPRO employees are provided with an e-bike upon request. More and more often, the cars stop and the e-bikes or even “muscle-powered” bikes gather in the yard during office and factory hours. “This is a great development in the direction of environmental friendliness, climate protection and, last but not least, a benefit for employee health,” adds Thomas Brimmers.

In both the administrative and production areas, the existing lighting is being successively replaced with highly efficient LED technology.

But even the little things help make the company greener. We attach great importance to recycling when it comes to packaging materials, and all printed matter for our customers is produced by a print shop that prints in a climate-neutral manner. For several months, ELSPRO has been providing employees with mineral water exclusively in glass bottles, sourced from a manufacturer in the neighboring city. Less plastic and short delivery routes for a cleaner environment.

“For us, this has been a matter of course for more than 35 years,” Thomas Brimmers reminds us, “and for this very reason it is worth emphasizing again: ELSPRO products are extremely durable and therefore sustainable due to their excellent material properties!”
