In order to be entitled to the limitation of the EEG surcharge, electricity-cost-intensive companies and self-suppliers with third-party supply must be able to prove the Power consumed by third parties by means of calibrated electricity meters.

Electricity meter – manufacturer on customer request
In the robust ELSPRO solid rubber distributors, we integrate electricity meters from various well-known manufacturers, such as Gossen Metrawatt, Hochhuth, NZR, Janitza and Siemens, according to customer requirements.
Simply by pressing a button, the stored measured values can be retrieved without the need for additional measuring devices. This means that the meters can be integrated very well into the existing infrastructure.
Reliable and sustainable:
The electricity meters are manufactured in accordance with the MID directive valid throughout Europe and in Switzerland and are ready for immediate use (initial verification).
After 8 years, these can be recalibrated by the manufacturer.
The Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG 2021) provides the regulatory basis for the levy of the EEG surcharge. In principle, every consumption is subject to apportionment. However, the EEG 2021 offers various options to be exempted from this levy or to receive a partial waiver. This includes, among others, the case of the self-supplier as well as the electricity cost-intensive company.
However, the exemption or partial relief only applies to own consumption, which is interpreted very strictly. Third companies, e.g. suppliers or tenants as well as parent, sister or subsidiary companies are excluded from the privilege. As a result, the EEG levy must be paid for Power that is passed on to third parties. Thus, all forwarded electricity quantities must be calibrated and reported to BAFA.
